by Erin Maguire, CMP, SHW Design & Event Director
Perfect for incentive groups looking to extend summer vibes, discover the hidden gem of Northern Arizona Wine Country where the high desert climate and volcanic soil create an exceptional terroir for growing grapes. Our 3-day itinerary offers a wine lover’s paradise with breathtaking views, award-winning wineries, and nostalgic charm.
Day 1: Verde Valley Wine Trail
Start your wine adventure by exploring the Verde Valley Wine Trail, a collection of seven wineries located in the heart of the Sedona-Verde Valley region. Begin your journey at Alcantara Vineyards, a family-owned winery that produces award-winning wines with stunning views of the Verde River. Next, visit Page Springs Cellars, a biodynamic winery that offers tastings in a beautiful outdoor setting. Don’t miss the opportunity to try their Rhône-style blends and varietals. Finish your day at Merkin Vineyards, a winery owned by Maynard James Keenan, frontman of the band Tool. Here, you’ll enjoy a farm-to-table meal paired with their artisanal wines.
Day 2: Old Town Cottonwood
Continue your wine adventure by exploring tasting rooms in the historic town of Cottonwood. Start at Burning Tree Cellars, a boutique winery that specializes in small-batch, handcrafted wines. Then, visit Pillsbury Wine Company, a vineyard that produces Rhône and Spanish-style wines with grapes sourced from across Arizona. Afterward, head to Arizona Stronghold Vineyards, which produces wines with a unique Arizona flair.
Day 3: Wine & Nostalgia in Williams
On your last day, take a scenic drive to Grand Canyon Winery, located in Williams, about an hour from Sedona. This winery offers a unique wine-tasting experience with stunning views of the San Francisco Peaks. Try their award-winning blends, including their Grand Canyon Red and their Symphony, a white wine with floral notes. Afterward, explore downtown Williams, one of the country’s best-preserved examples of a Route 66 highway town, complete with vintage neon signs, classic diners, retro gas stations, and memorabilia shops.
